Apparently the fish here drink Belikins

So we arrive in Belize city by bus, crossing the border from Guatemala ( El Remate). The bus took 5 hours and it was not that bad. 2 hours to the border and 3 hours from there. The scenery was beautiful, green, coconut trees, banana trees, and when we got to Belize, we were surprised to know that everyone spoke English. I always thought it was a spanish first language, but it was sad not to be able to use my spanish any more. Well, some of the locals speak spanish, of course.
I’ll make the bad part of the day a short story, basically we got our backpack stolen at the Embarcadero water taxi station in Belize city. We took a 55 minute boat ride over to Caye Caulker shortly after. We decided to make the best of the rest of our vacation as it is really beautiful here. Its like Mike said, like a Corona commercial would be filmed. Tiny Island, beaches on all four sides, calm seas, brightly colored fish swimming. And, oh the red snapper we ate for dinner at the Happy Lobster. Best part of the day was our meal. A bit pricy, round 50 US dollars, but we had beers, six of them, and 2 plates of snapper, whole, with cebiche and nachos. Picked up some more beer at the market on our way back to our guesthouse. Sitting on the hammocks drinking till shower time, then the most peaceful sleep we’ve had in a long time.
