Friday Snapshot: The Library at Ephesus
This majestic ancient library was completed in 120 AD. Do the math kids, that’s pretty old. This gorgeous façade was originally built to house more than 10,000 scrolls and the tomb of one Roman Senator Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus, who was buried in a sarcophagus beneath the library. Look at the detail. Pretty snazzy!
I’ve got tons more photographs from the day we explored this ancient Greek city, so I’ll tell you the rest of the story in my post about Ephesus! Stay tuned….
