A weekend of decadence in a private villa

As we make our way back to Bali for New Year’s eve to ring in the new year on the beach, I remembered that I haven’t even written about the amazing villa we stayed at for Mike’s birthday at the end of August.

The night before the birthday and we're relaxing.

We found a great deal through latestays, which we had never used before but decided to give it a try. I mean, a private villa for a few days? The idea sounded so luxurious I almost couldn’t believe it was going to happen. We’d be arriving to Seminyak after spending a few days in Ubud so we wanted to have time to relax and enjoy Mike’s birthday in style.

Can't believe people enjoy these all the time. I could get used to this.

We arrived to the Aria Luxury Villas & Spa¬†and immediately felt welcome. The staff goes out of their way to ensure everyone is happy and all of their needs are met. After being shown to a villa that unfortunately had construction going on behind it, I explained that it was Mike’s birthday and we wanted something a little more quiet. The attendant told us if we were willing to wait, they’d upgrade us later on that night. We decided to wait and see.

Romantic settings.

The staff did not forget about us and later on that night transferred us to a gorgeously quiet villa. The pool sparkled in the night and came complete with 2 lounge chairs beside it, and the bed with the mosquito curtain was oh so romantic. The outdoor living area was a nice place to relax and we were able to store desserts and waters in the fridge. If we had wanted to cook we could have done so as well on the stovetop. They thought of everything.

Our kitchen area at night.

We’d packed tiny little ipod speakers and we plugged them in and proceeded to swim in the pool, ordering room service to bring us some local white wine. It was delicious. The next day we ordered breakfast to be sent to the villa and the staff brought us an extra surprise.

Right in the middle of breakfast, a knock on the door brought this!

The weather was gorgeous, it was a perfect day to celebrate a birthday. The staff was so kind in bringing us a cake.

The birthday breakfast they delivered to the villa!

Our visit included 2 hour long massages courtesy of paying with my Visa card for our stay, and we had the massages right on our lounge chairs in our villa. The massage was excellent and we were left feeling completely relaxed. If splurging felt this good I was definitely ready to do it again soon.

Our indoor/outdoor bathroom with an infinity bathtub...we tested it out!

We stayed at the Aria Luxury Villas in Seminyak and found the experience amazing. Splurging every once in a while is good for you. We would definitely stay here again. The area was perfect as we rented a scooter and visited delicious restaurants we found nearby.

Tell us, what was your most luxurious splurge on your travels?

Note: We received no media discount at all on our stay at this villa through it’s management or latestays. The property was located through latestays and we recommend them for last minute bookings solely based on our experience with them this one time. Latestays is a last minute discounted property booking website.

Looks like fun! I love a little decadence from time to time.

Latestays…I’m keeping that in mind. I can’t begin to count the amount of times we’ve had to book last minute rooms, hostels, etc.

Your villa looks soooo nice!! D-Man peeked over my shoulder and said he really liked the tub!!

    • Mica says:

Yup, I wanted to use them again for our New Years in Bali but we waited to long and everything sold out. But, it is a pretty good site for checking last minute stays a week out. Thank you for the tub compliment, Mike actually made us sit in it and wait till it overflowed to make sure it was an ‘infinity’ tub. Which took about 2 hours.
