We’ve got some exciting news!
We’ve partnered with the Hungary Tourism Board and we’re going to Budapest for a gastro-cultural tour!
Nicknamed the Capital of Spas, Buda & Pest were united to become one single since since the 1870’s. In the last 20 years it has sprung up to become one of Europe’s most livable cities and we’re excited to photograph the architecture & get a taste of the city!
We’ll be exploring the city with our Budapest Cards, which are good for free entry to museums such as the Budapest History Museum, guided walking tours of Buda & Pest, and public transport. The card also has free entry to a Medicinal Bath & its been way too long since we had hamam time so we’re definitely going to check it out.
We’ll also head down the Danube, Europe’s 2nd largest river for a romantic nighttime sightseeing cruise.
Folklore, castles, museums, side trips to wineries, – we could keep busy for months (and we’d love to!)
Since the holidays are fast approaching its nice to be able to see some Christmas markets as well as some ice skating in the city park.
As always we love to lead the way through our travels with our stomachs so we’re in for a real treat taking a Food Tour with Budapest Underguide.
We also hope to partake in a cooking class at some point so we can learn to make some Hungarian Cuisine!
We’re also going to search out some of the best restaurants from oldest to newest including the PestBuda Bistro which has some interesting history. And did I mention Budapest has a sweets tour? We could do a different food tour every single day! Some Michelin starred restaurants are on our list so we’ll let you know where we find the best food in Budapest.
We’ve got 9 days to explore so we’ll also visit some castles, more food markets, and do some obligatory wine tasting! Cycling, and possibly caving are also on the itinerary. We might also take in an opera, if I can convince Mike.
What else should we be doing? We’re taking all restaurant/food stall/brunch suggestions, beers/wines to try, and things we absolutely must not miss, let us know! Any tour suggestions are always welcome.
